As we begin 2024, I would like to commend our HSCNI, encompass, and Epic colleagues for an incredibly busy but successful 2023.
All the years of preparation and planning came together and, as a team, we made history by successfully implementing encompass in South Eastern Health and Social Care Trust.
This is an incredible achievement and marks a change in the way healthcare will be delivered here, forever.
I would like to offer my congratulations to SEHSCT.
The committed, calm, and professional approach shown throughout an increasingly difficult time has been one of a kind and I would like to extend my thanks to the executive team led by Chief Executive, Roisin Coulter.
admire our HSCNI staff coming together from all the Trusts to support SEHSCT and without that ‘can-do’ attitude and on-going dedication to the encompass programme, this implementation would not have been possible, let alone successful.
Although there were many challenges along the way, the collaborative approach from everyone involved in the programme provided a blueprint for the future.
With the challenges comes learning and this will feed into our approach for the Belfast Health and Social Care Trust (BHSCT) Go-Live in June.
BHSCT are already preparing for the implementation of Epic, and the upcoming months will once again be very busy.
I urge all staff across HSCNI to please come together and ensure as much support as possible is provided for our BHSCT colleagues. Amazing opportunities are available to play an integral role in the next encompass implementation whether that involves becoming a Super User, a Credentialled Trainer, supporting Readiness activities, or helping your colleagues out with small tasks.
This year will bring us more exciting milestones and will require continued support.
Everyone who has played a part in the encompass journey should be very proud of what has been accomplished. I hope that you all got some down-time over the Christmas and New Year period to relax and reflect on what has been achieved as we look ahead to the next chapter.
