If you have recently heard about My Care and are keen to learn more, Dr. Neil Black, Chief Clinical Information Officer (CCIO) for the Western Trust and Chair of the regional My Care governance and decision group recently took part in a BBC Radio Foyle Interview.

During the interview, Dr. Black explains what My Care is, how to access it, how secure it is and why it is already making a meaningful difference to people right across Northern Ireland. With over 310,000 people signed up and uptake continuing to grow, the conversation tackles common queries head-on, from worries about technology and security to questions around ease of use.

Listeners will hear how My Care gives people direct access to their hospital appointments, letters, and some test results, helping them stay informed and better prepared and less likely to miss appointments due to waiting on the post.

Dr. Black also discusses how having one shared digital record across hospitals improves patient safety, supports continuity of care and strengthens communication between services, particularly when people need care across different locations.

If you feel like you are not very ‘tech savvy’, this interview is packed with practical advice to get you started on My Care, providing real life examples and clear explanations. My Care is empowering patients to take an active role in their health care journeys.
